The O Basketball League, a.k.a Opportunity basketball league aims to provide dedicated athletes a direct pathway to professional contracts and elite opportunities. By offering a high-level, consistent competitive environment right in Winston-Salem, players can showcase their professional readiness without the need for extensive travel. The league features three teams competing in six tournament games across two seasons. Athletes are drafted based on strict potential and pro-readiness standards, then signed into categories ranging from "professionally ready" to "needs development" or "raw prospect." Players are consistently ranked based on their performance, with top-tier talent showcased directly to the league's affiliated basketball agencies ready to recruit immediately. Additionally, each year's highest-ranked player receives the $500 Willie Johnson O League Scholarship to help fund their professional career goals.
